Update -- Houston is tied for fourth with Sacramento and Phoenix in the West. The top four teams make the playoffs. Injuries have played a part in the Comets’ struggles: Tina Thompson sat out several games because of a left calf strain, and Sheryl Swoopes has a bad right foot. The Sparks have had their own injury problems. Surgery on DeLisha Milton-Jones’ right knee was postponed this week as team physicians reevaluated her condition. Christi Thomas, who suffered a sprained right ankle in Wednesday’s 96-76 victory over Washington, is questionable for tonight.
