Woman Killed in Costa Mesa Blaze

A 21-year-old Costa Mesa woman died Sunday afternoon after a fire in her apartment, authorities said.
Firefighters responded to a blaze in the 1900 block of Maple Avenue about 4 p.m. and said they found a woman in cardiac arrest inside.
She was pronounced dead at Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach. Her name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Fire officials estimated that the fire caused $3,000 in damage to the building and its contents.
