Relief volunteers tried to deliver food and medicine to tens of millions of Bangladeshis affected by monthlong floods that have killed at least 473 people in the delta nation and washed away rice crops and livestock.

The death toll throughout South Asia from landslides, drowning, collapsing houses, disease and other perils linked to the rains stood at more than 1,350.
