U.S. Shuts Embassies in 4 Nations Temporarily

The United States temporarily closed embassies in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Mauritius due to threats and demonstrations against U.S. interests.
In the Emirates and Mauritius, an island off Africa, the embassies had received threats.
In Saudi Arabia, the embassy was closed for less than an hour in response to reports of an explosion elsewhere in the capital, Riyadh. In Bahrain, the embassy in Manama was closed during an hourlong demonstration.
