Trainer Juan Garcia and jockey Patrick Valenzuela played a big role in Hollywood Park’s pick six on Wednesday.

On an afternoon when there was a carry-over of $143,950, Garcia won twice with Gloriababy, a 6-1 longshot in the third, and with American All Star, at 5-1 in the sixth. Valenzuela doubled in the sequence with Autumn Accent, part of the favored entry in the fourth, and favored Pocketfullofpesos, who won for the fourth time in as many races at Hollywood Park in the seventh.

The other winners in the pick six were Greenbaypacker, who won for the second time in 22 races, and Lady Siphonica, a full sister to former Hollywood Futurity winner Siphonic, who won in her debut for trainer Doug O’Neill in the eighth race.

There were 24 tickets that isolated all six winners; each worth $24,892.

Valenzuela, who tops the rider standings at Hollywood Park, also won the first with 3-5 choice Beer Stien. Valenzuela, who resumed riding April 25 after a suspension, has 21 victories at the meet, seven more than runner-up Corey Nakatani.

Jockey Frank Olivares is retiring. Again.

Olivares, 54, had been retired for 11 years when he returned to riding last June. His career highlights include upsets aboard Croeso in the 1983 Florida Derby and Go West Young Man in the 1977 Del Mar Futurity. He won with 11 of 146 mounts since his comeback, and three of 46 this year.

Olivares said he has accepted a position as a client advisor for a Monrovia car dealer. He also has been doing some on-camera work for Television Games Network.
