After winning with the maiden Hawkish in 2003, owner Enrique Gonzalez’s E G High Desert Farms won the $350,000 Kindergarten Futurity again this year, taking the Grade I with 7-1 shot Dash To The End.

Second behind Mr Corona Perfect, who was off the board as the favorite Saturday night, in a Kindergarten trial two weeks earlier, Dash To The End broke sharply and went on to beat Jumpn in 15.50 for the 300 yards.

In the process, the 2-year-old Red Hot Rhythm filly gave both jockey Joel Cruz and trainer Felix Gonzalez their first wins in the Kindergarten. Dash To The End also is alive for a $1-million bonus should she win the Ed Burke Memorial Futurity this summer and the Los Alamitos later this year.

Trainer Paul Jones’ best effort was third place with longshot La Jolla Ca. Looking For Chicks, the second choice and considered Jones’ best hope, broke best of all in the field of 10 but drifted out badly.
