* Bob Osher has been named chief operating officer of Sony Corp.’s Columbia Pictures Motion Picture Group, the firm said. Osher had been co-president of production for Walt Disney Co.’s Miramax Films.
* Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc., the movie studio controlled by billionaire Kirk Kerkorian, paid shareholders a one-time dividend of $8 a share. The payment was about $1.89 billion, MGM said.
