Animal Rights Law One of Europe’s Toughest
From Times Wire Reports
Austria adopted one of Europe’s toughest animal rights laws, banning pet owners from cropping their dogs’ ears or tails, forcing farmers to uncage chickens, and acting to ensure that puppies and kittens don’t swelter in pet shop windows.
Violators will be subject to fines of $2,420; in cases of extreme cruelty, they could be fined up to $18,160 and their animals could be seized.
