Plane Crashes Into Lake, Killing All 53 Aboard

A small plane carrying 47 passengers and six crew members crashed into a lake in northern China just after takeoff; the government said all aboard were killed.
The plane, bound for Shanghai, went down near the city of Baotou in the Inner Mongolia region, the official New China News Agency said. There was no word on the cause.
The plane crashed into a frozen lake in Nanhai Park “only about a dozen seconds” after taking off, the news agency said. The area is about 330 miles northwest of Beijing.
