Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Anaheim; Driver Says He Couldn’t Avoid Her
A woman crossing an Anaheim street was killed Thursday evening when she was hit by a car.
The accident happened about 7 p.m. at the intersection of La Palma Avenue and Columbine Street, Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez said.
The woman, who was not identified, appeared to have been hit while in a crosswalk by a sedan driven by an 18-year-old man, who also was not identified by police. Martinez said investigators had not yet determined who had the right of way.
The driver told officers he had tried to stop but was unable to avoid hitting the woman as she crossed La Palma Avenue.
