Woman Shot Dead in SUV; 2 Children Unhurt

A gunman shot and killed a woman sitting in a sport utility vehicle in the Crenshaw district late Wednesday evening, but two small children in the vehicle were uninjured, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The shooting occurred about 9:40 p.m. in the 4100 block of Buckingham Road. Police said they had not determined why the woman, 25, was shot.
“We don’t know much more yet,” LAPD Officer Kathy Simpson said. “We don’t know if the children were hers or somebody else’s.”
