From Times Wire Reports
Four Colombian paramilitary warlords said they would lay down their arms, raising hope that all far-right militias eventually would disband.
Ramon Isaza, Ramiro Vanoy, Pablo Mejia and Jorge 40 said in a communique that their 4,000 fighters would demobilize as part of peace talks between the government and the outlawed United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, or AUC.
About 5,000 of the AUC’s 20,000 members have handed in their arms, and commanders of 7,000 other men have said they are about to disband.
