Polish authorities said they had arrested an aide to a prominent parliamentarian, accusing him of spying for a “big neighbor” -- a clear reference to Russia.
The parliamentarian, Jozef Gruszka, heads a special committee investigating whether officials from the ruling Democratic Left Alliance accepted bribes to help Russian oil giants buy Polish refineries.
Gruszka, a member of the opposition Polish Peasant Party, said he believed the man, whose name was not released, had no access to documents linked with the inquiry.
