NBC Sports takes 8 Emmys

NBC Sports won eight Emmy Awards -- including six for its coverage of the 2004 Athens Olympics -- and Games host Bob Costas collected his 17th on Monday night.
HBO was second with six Emmys, and ESPN was third with five. The 26th annual Sports Emmys were handed out in New York by the National Television Academy of Arts & Sciences.
ABC’s “Monday Night Football” was named best live sports series. Costas won as outstanding studio host for his work at the Olympics and additional duties at HBO. Joe Buck of Fox was named best play-by-play announcer.
