Body of Californian Found in Trunk of Car
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Mexican authorities discovered the body of a Chula Vista businessman who was kidnapped on his way to work in Tijuana three weeks ago.
The body of George Kwok Choi Chu, 50, a U.S. citizen of Chinese descent, was found in the trunk of an abandoned car and showed signs of being strangled, authorities said. No arrests have been made.
Most victims in a string of Tijuana abductions have been Mexicans whose kidnappers had demanded large ransoms. It was not known whether a ransom was demanded for Chu, whose company supplied seafood to Chinese restaurants.
