Fishermen Sue Agency Over Salmon Limits

SAN FRANCISCO
A Northern California fishermen’s group has sued the National Marine Fisheries Service over quotas that have all but shut down this year’s salmon season.
The federal lawsuit by the 100-member Salmon Trollers Marketing Assn. of Fort Bragg contends that the service and other agencies ignored scientific data in imposing limits on fishing for salmon off much of Oregon and Northern California.
