at Chicago 7, Pittsburgh 5: Mark Prior got his first win this season, yielding two earned runs in 5 2/3 innings. Making his eighth start, he won for the first time since Sept. 10, 2005, at San Francisco.

Colorado 2, at San Francisco 1: Clint Barmes’ RBI single in the 11th inning lifted the Rockies. Choo Freeman led off with a walk and was sacrificed to second. With two out, Barmes hit a soft liner to right, easily scoring Freeman.

at Cincinnati 8, Atlanta 6: Brandon Phillips homered twice and drove in four runs to lead the Reds. His second homer, a one-out solo shot in the eighth, gave the Reds a 7-6 lead.

Houston 9, at Arizona 3: One day after his 44th birthday, Roger Clemens earned his 344th victory. Brad Ausmus hit his third career grand slam and Clemens scattered eight hits over seven innings.

at San Diego 6, Washington 3: Mike Cameron hit a tiebreaking RBI double in the seventh inning. With the score 3-3, Cameron drove Pedro Astacio’s pitch to left-center, scoring Dave Roberts from first base.
