Man Wanted in 2002 Slaying Jailed in Texas

A Santa Ana gang member wanted nearly four years for murder was arrested Friday in Gainesville, Texas, authorities said.
Angel Guzman Vergara Jr., 25, will be extradited to Orange County for arraignment early next week on charges of murder, kidnapping, robbery and street terrorism in the 2002 shooting death of Ricky Vasquez, 25, a drug dealer whose house he had visited, authorities said.
If convicted, Vergara faces possible life imprisonment without parole.
Jose Velasquez, 26, was arrested in the case during a 2002 traffic stop and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
