Irvine Couple and Son Die in Hawaii Collision
An Irvine couple and their 7-year-old son were killed in a collision with a gasoline truck in Hawaii.
The couple’s 5-year-old son was critically injured, according to Kauai County officials.
Lan Kim Yim, 44, and Yong T. Yim, 43, died Thursday when they made a U-turn from the highway shoulder directly into the tanker, authorities said.
Lan Kim Yim, the mother and driver, died at the scene.
Her husband died at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital, and the son died while being flown to Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu, authorities said.
The names of the children were not released.
