* Kali Bennett, Ventura: Had 14 points, 11 rebounds and eight blocked shots to lead a 49-46 comeback victory for the Cougars, ranked No. 9 by The Times, against Goleta Dos Pueblos in Channel League play.

BOYS’ SOCCER

* Heriberto Ponce, West Covina: Scored three goals -- two in the first three minutes and the game-winning penalty kick in the 78th minute -- in a 3-2 San Antonio League victory over West Covina South Hills.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

* Christen Press, Palos Verdes Peninsula Chadwick: Scored all three goals for the Dolphins, ranked No. 1 in the Division IV poll, in a 3-1 Prep League victory over Pasadena Mayfield.

* Taylor Hilgert, Santa Ana Mater Dei: Scored two goals as the Monarchs, ranked No. 2 in Division I, defeated Fullerton Rosary, 3-1, in Serra League play.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

* Sara Gralitzer, Agoura: Saved 22 shots to help the Chargers, Division IV’s top-ranked team, preserve a 14-6 Marmonte League victory over Thousand Oaks, the No. 4 team in the division.
