Trojans Win by 21 Points on the Road
Eshaya Murphy led USC with 18 points and 10 rebounds Thursday night in an 81-60 victory over Washington State at Pullman, Wash.
Jamie Hagiya added 16 points and seven assists for the Trojans, who are 11-5 overall and 5-2 in the Pac-10. Amanda DuRocher led Washington State (6-9, 0-6) with 13 points.
The Trojans led, 18-17, midway through the first half before a 14-0 run gave them clear control of the game. Camille LeNoir capped the run with one of USC’s 11 three-point baskets.
The Trojans shot 45% from the field, including 52% on three-pointers, and made 80% at the free-throw line.
Washington 96, UCLA 75 -- Junior guard Cameo Hicks scored 13 of her game-high 17 points in the second half at Seattle in sparking the Huskies to a victory over the Bruins.
Hicks scored six of her team’s points during a 14-5 run to open the second half. The Huskies (12-3, 5-1) enjoyed a double-digit lead the rest of the way.
UCLA was led by senior guard Nikki Blue with 24 points. Sophomore forward Lindsey Pluimer had 19 points. The Bruins (9-7, 4-3) are 0-3 on the road in conference play.
Washington’s Kayla Burt, a senior guard with a history of heart problems, left the game early in the first half when her defibrillator activated.
She was taken across the street from Bank of America Arena to the UW Medical Center for observation. She was in no pain and was alert when she left.
