New Line Must Show Files in ‘Rings’ Suit

Time Warner Inc.’s New Line Cinema unit was ordered to produce sales and licensing documents in a lawsuit filed by “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson over his share of the proceeds from the movie trilogy.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Stephen Hillman rejected New Line’s objections that the documents were confidential and proprietary, a ruling filed in Los Angeles federal court showed.
