8 Communist Party Officials Punished

Eight Chinese Communist Party officials have been punished for buying or selling official posts, the official New China News Agency said.
The officials have been fired and expelled from the party, and some have been sentenced to prison, the news agency said.
In recent years, thousands of government and Communist Party officials have been punished, and some executed, in an effort to stamp out corruption.
