Zine, Bratton Deny Feud Over Drug-Test Policy

Appearing together at a news conference at MacArthur Park, City Councilman Dennis Zine and Police Chief William J. Bratton shared a hug for the cameras Wednesday and downplayed the seriousness of their public disagreement over the police recruit drug-testing policy.
“The chief and I are discussing this. We have no feud,” Zine said. “We have no issue that we can’t resolve among ourselves.”
Bratton said, “There will be no apology, but it has all been worked out. We had an interesting week.”
