HURRAH for Angela Sousa, who does what the critics are too chicken to do, expose Robert Wilson for the charlatan he is. His “Parsifal” was awful, and so was his “Madame Butterfly,” in which he broke the spell of Puccini’s inspired “humming” scene by having the boy run around the stage. “The Black Rider” is an embarrassment, but worst of all is his “Lohengrin,” which I saw at the Metropolitan Opera in New York several years ago. They did the same version recently and I couldn’t believe they hadn’t dumped it. If more people will write letters, can we get him to a monastery?
