Verizon to increase rates for new TV subscribers
From Bloomberg News
New York-based Verizon Communications Inc. plans to raise the monthly rate it charges for its television service about $3 a month, or 7.6%.
The price increase to $42.99 a month from $39.95 will affect customers who sign up for the service after Jan. 8. Existing Verizon video customers will continue to be charged the $39.95 monthly fee, Verizon spokesman Cliff Lee said.
The added cost “represents the increased value of services,” Lee said. “We have added about 20 channels.”
