A man was shot to death in Compton on Monday in an attack that authorities say was possibly gang-related.
The shooting occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the 400 block of West Alondra Boulevard, according to Sheriff’s Department deputies. The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Sgt. Mark Moffett of the department’s Compton station said investigators were looking into whether the killing was in retaliation for a fatal shooting Sunday in the same neighborhood.
So far this year, Compton has recorded more than 35 homicides.
