Off-duty pilot faces drug charge
An off-duty Northwest Airlines pilot was charged with cocaine possession, eluding police, resisting officers and operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs after he headed the wrong way on an interstate to avoid a U.S.-Canada border stop and led deputies on a chase, authorities said.
Investigators said Walter L. Dinalko, 50, had flown to Detroit Metropolitan Airport and rented a car that he drove about 70 miles to Port Huron, Mich. Police said Dinalko turned around three times on a bridge, apparently changing his mind about crossing into Canada.
