* Tampa Bay 5, at Oakland 3: Rocco Baldelli returned after sitting out two games because of a bruised right knee and quickly got back to work, combining with Elijah Dukes for consecutive homers in the Devil Rays’ win. B.J. Upton hit a go-ahead three-run homer in the fourth, connecting for the second straight game.
* at Seattle 5, Kansas City 1: Cha Seung Baek took a no-hit bid into the sixth, and Willie Bloomquist’s two-out, two-run double in the seventh inning broke a 1-1 tie. Baek overpowered the Royals for six innings, and needed to as Seattle managed only four hits off Kansas City starter Brian Bannister.
* at Detroit 4, Minnesota 3: Brandon Inge’s leadoff homer in the ninth inning gave the Tigers the win. Inge began the game hitting .122 but had three hits, including the winning drive into the left-field stands off Jesse Crain (1-2) in the ninth.
* at Toronto 7, Texas 3: Alex Rios homered, Tomo Ohka pitched seven innings to win his second straight start and Aaron Hill went three for four and drove in two runs for the Blue Jays.
* at Cleveland 6, Baltimore 1: Fausto Carmona pitched into the ninth inning and Casey Blake homered for the Indians. Carmona (2-1) gave up six hits, walked two and struck out one in a career-best 8 1/3 innings. He had a shutout in the ninth before Aubrey Huff hit his 100th pitch over the wall in right with one out.
* Boston 7, at New York 4: David Ortiz, Alex Cora and Manny Ramirez homered and Julian Tavarez got his first win of the season as the Red Sox sent the Yankees to their eighth loss in nine games.
* Angels 5, at Chicago 2: Maicer Izturis and Vladimir Guerrero hit consecutive homers, and Kelvim Escobar gave up four hits over 7 2/3 innings.
