Hikers find a human skull
A skull found in the Angeles National Forest was identified Sunday as human, authorities said.
Although coroners’ investigators could not say what caused the person’s death or make an identification, they were investigating the discovery as a possible homicide , said Deputy Oscar Butao, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The skull was found about 1 p.m. Saturday by a father and son hiking along Mt. Wilson Road, Butao said. No other bones were found.
