Memorial service for Jan Nathan set for Aug. 18

A public celebration of the life of Jan Nathan is planned for noon Aug. 18 at the Portofino Hotel, 260 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach. Nathan, who died June 17, helped found the Independent Book Publishers Assn. and was a champion of small, independent presses.
