Wal-Mart, Fendi settle lawsuit

Fendi, the Italian fashion group known for its monogrammed handbags and leather goods, settled a lawsuit with Wal-Mart Stores Inc. in which Fendi claimed that the world’s largest retailer sold counterfeit handbags and wallets in its Sam’s Club stores.
Wal-Mart agreed to pay Fendi an undisclosed sum in exchange for dismissal of the case, according to a statement by the companies. Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart also agreed to offer refunds to customers who bought the mislabeled products.
