Gunmen opened fire on government forces in Quetta, Pakistan, killing seven soldiers and two police officers.
The security forces were attacked as they drove toward military quarters, city Police Chief Rehmatullah Niazi said. Five soldiers were wounded.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility.
