As a 45-year resident of the community, I read with pride your June 3 article on La Canada Flintridge, “A Merger Allowed Their City to Bloom.” I was surprised, however, that you did not mention the Valley Sun, the community newspaper of record, which has been published without interruption since 1946.
Two other groups add to the greatness of our schools: The La Canada Flintridge Educational Foundation, through its fundraising campaign, donates more than $1 million to the school district each year.
The Assistance League of Flintridge has provided summer-school classes to area students since the passage of Proposition 13.
What a great community.
