Flashy hypocrisy

Re “Oscar night in the driver’s seat,” Opinion, Feb. 27
I read with dismay about the 1,000 limos parked at the Hollywood Bowl while the hypocritical elite of the film industry voted to give “An Inconvenient Truth,” warning us about global warming, the Academy Award for best documentary. The average attendee at the Academy Awards show lives in a mansion, has a swimming pool, gardeners, SUVs, maids and lots of electric lightbulbs and TVs, all using more power than we normal mortals will ever use. I don’t like being lectured about my lifestyle while these rich, spoiled and naive people enjoy the perks they want me to give up.
