Advance of Romance
Sometime during the coming weeks, as My Chemical Romance continues to tour North America and Europe, its 2006 album “The Black Parade” will finally reach the 1 million sales mark. It might have been slower to that milestone than some expected, but the New Jersey band can bask in the distinction of being not just a million-seller, but also the only mainstream hard-rock act to crack the upper reaches of the Village Voice critics’ poll, where “Parade” finished No. 17. Gerard Way will lead the unlikely critical faves through the entire over-the-top epic in its two Southland stops.
My Chemical Romance, the Forum, 3900 W. Manchester Blvd., Inglewood. 8 p.m. Saturday. $27.75. (310) 330-7340.
* Also 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Anaheim Convention Center, 800 W. Katella Ave., Anaheim. $30. Sold out. (714) 765-8950.
