Ex-Yahoo exec joins Benchmark

The former head of Yahoo Inc.’s Santa Monica-based music division has joined Benchmark Capital Management Co., a Silicon Valley venture capital firm.

David Goldberg joined Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Yahoo in 2001 after it acquired Media Launch Inc., the Santa Monica company he co-founded. Goldberg will serve as entrepreneur in residence at Benchmark, evaluating investment opportunities in consumer media markets including digital music and video.
