Carriers match fare increase

AMR Corp.’s American Airlines was matched by its four biggest U.S. rivals in raising round-trip domestic fares by $20 to offset record fuel prices.
Continental Airlines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp. adopted the higher fares Friday, joining Thursday’s moves by UAL Corp.’s United Airlines and Delta Air Lines Inc. US Airways Group Inc., the No. 7 airline, also matched the increase.
