Re “Airbus A380 to visit LAX,” Nov. 28
Let’s not fall for all the public relations stunts coming from Airbus about the company’s version of the Spruce Goose, the A380. If it really wants to bring service to LAX and other major airports, it should fund new outlying terminals and shuttle service to support these super-sized aircraft. One aircraft company should not force taxpayers to spend billions on remodeling airport facilities to accommodate this boondoggle. Let Airbus sell these great white whales to the oil-rich Arab countries that can well afford the expense. This is not progress in air travel by any stretch of the imagination.
