Man dies after reporting chase
A Lake Los Angeles man who had called friends to say he was being chased was found fatally wounded Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Friends and paramedics found Jeremy Mancera, 19, in the back seat of his car with gunshot wounds to his upper body at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the 41700 block of 170th Street East, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Ed Hernandez said.
Mancera had told friends he was being chased by three men in a brown truck, Hernandez said.
Paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Hernandez said. Investigators have not arrested any suspects in connection with the shooting or recovered any weapons, he said.
