Winehouse steps out from rehab
Singer Amy Winehouse was photographed Wednesday walking out of rehab looking chipper and healthy -- a far cry from the disheveled appearance she had just before her Jan. 24 admission into London’s Capio Nightingale Clinic. She was on a day release so she could visit her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, in jail.
The British tabloids, which have been brutal with the 24-year-old performer of late, played up the photos under sunny headlines like “Here’s Amy Finehouse” and “Amy’s Looking Re-Fab!” Although her health may be improving, it’s still uncertain whether she’ll be coming to Los Angeles for Sunday’s Grammy Awards, where she is nominated in six categories, including album and record of the year and best new artist.
After several legal scrapes, it’s not clear whether Winehouse can obtain a visa to attend the show at Staples Center. Grammy officials said Wednesday that they were trying to facilitate her travel and awaiting word.
