Body found on beach identified
From the Associated Press
Officials believe a body discovered on a Northern California beach is that of a woman who was swept away in rough surf over the weekend.
Detectives on Monday identified the woman as 42-year-old Molly Keane of Berkeley.
Keane disappeared off Gualala Point Regional Park in Sonoma County on Saturday. Witnesses told the U.S. Coast Guard they last saw Keane trying to pull her dog from the surf.
The incident comes only weeks after a 19-year-old Petaluma woman drowned when she tried to save her two dogs from the surf at another Sonoma County beach.
