at Atlanta 4, Pittsburgh 1: The Thrashers ended a five-game losing streak, but leading scorer Ilya Kovalchuk left because of an apparent knee injury after a knee-on-knee hit with the Penguins’ Jarkko Ruutu.
at Detroit 3, Phoenix 2: Nicklas Lidstrom’s goal with 7:28 left completed a comeback and lifted the NHL-leading Red Wings to their fifth consecutive victory. Lidstrom also had two assists.
Buffalo 1, at Florida 0: Thomas Vanek scored a power-play goal in the first minute of the second period and Ryan Miller stopped 32 shots. It was the Sabres’ second victory in two nights after they entered the All-Star break having lost 12 of 14.
at Colorado 6, Chicago 3: Marek Svatos scored twice and the scoring-challenged Avalanche broke through against the Blackhawks’ Nikolai Khabibulin.
at Calgary 5, San Jose 4: Owen Nolan’s hat trick lifted the Flames to their fourth victory in a row. Nolan capped his first three-goal game since Oct. 4, 1999, at 10:45 of the third period by tucking a rebound past Evgeni Nabokov.
at Minnesota 5, Ducks 1: Goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere was pulled for the second game in a row after giving up three goals in four shots. He faced 11 shots overall.
