Syrian suspect is extradited to U.S.
From Times Wire Reports
Suspected Syrian arms dealer Monzer Kassar has been extradited to the United States, the U.S. Embassy said.
Agents of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration accompanied Kassar on a private flight from Madrid to New York, embassy spokesman William Ostick said.
Kassar, a longtime resident of Spain, was arrested in Madrid in June 2007. The United States said he plotted to supply weapons to Colombia’s FARC leftist rebels, which the United States and other countries classify as a terrorist group.
