Fed holding reins of so-called free market
I am confused. I read in the Business section about (a) how we have a free market system and if we just let it work, all will be well; and (b) how we all must wait on the Federal Reserve meeting to figure out what will happen next. (“Wall Street is watching as Fed treads a fine line,” June 23.)
Now, which is it, please? And if it is the free market system, for whom is it “free”? And if we must wait on the Fed, then how can it be “free”? Help!
