* Seattle 4, at San Diego 2: Carlos Silva won for the first time in 13 starts. Adrian Beltre had three hits and drove in two runs for the Mariners (30-50), who won for the fourth time in five games but still have the worst record in the majors. The Padres lost their season-high seventh in a row and 12th in 14 games. They dropped to 3-14 in interleague play, worst in the majors. At 32-50, they’re tied with the Nationals for the second-worst record in the majors.
* St. Louis 5, at Kansas City 1: Rick Ankiel hit a two-run home run to help rookie Mitchell Boggs (3-0) remain unbeaten. The Royals had their six-game winning streak ended.
* Baltimore 9, at Washington 1: Luke Scott and Ramon Hernandez homered and Adam Jones matched his career high with four hits.
* Philadelphia 8, at Texas 6: Chase Utley and Ryan Howard hit 400-foot homers in the third inning. Both homers came off Vicente Padilla (10-4), who was denied by his former team of matching the American League lead for victories.
* Cincinnati 5, at Cleveland 0: Johnny Cueto (6-8) won for the first time in four starts, combining with four relievers for the shutout. The Reds won for only the fourth time in 13 games.
* at Toronto 9, Atlanta 5: Vernon Wells homered and drove in three runs, Rod Barajas hit a solo homer and Joe Inglett had two runs batted in.
* San Francisco 1, at Oakland 0: Tim Lincecum (9-1) outpitched Justin Duchscherer (8-5), Randy Winn drove in the only run and the Giants ended a seven-game losing streak to the Athletics.
* at Houston 11, Boston 10: Mark Loretta hit a three-run homer and Carlos Lee had a solo shot and a two-run double. Lance Berkman hit a two-run double in the eighth inning for Houston.
* at Detroit 7, Colorado 6: Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run double in the bottom of the ninth and the Tigers overcame Todd Jones’ blown save to improve to .500 for the first time this season. It was the Tigers’ fourth win in a row and 14th in 17 games.
* Milwaukee 5, at Minnesota 1: Manny Parra (8-2) gave up two hits in seven innings to win his sixth start in a row. Livan Hernandez (8-5) lost for the first time in three starts.
* New York Yankees 3, at New York Mets 2: Andy Pettitte (9-5) outpitched Johan Santana (7-7) for his sixth consecutive victory. Carlos Beltran struck out four times, including three times against Pettitte.
* at Chicago White Sox 6, Chicago Cubs 5: Jermaine Dye and Alexei Ramirez homered for the White Sox, who were swept last weekend by the Cubs but have rebounded and won four of five.
* at Pittsburgh 4, Tampa Bay 3 (13 innings): Jason Bay homered off Jason Hammel (3-3) with two outs in the 13th inning.
* Arizona 6, at Florida 2: Brandon Webb (12-4) returned to his All-Star form and Chris Young had three RBIs in a National League game.
* at Dodgers 1, Angels 0: Jered Weaver (7-8) and Jose Arredondo combined to hold the Dodgers without a hit. Chad Billingsley (7-7) scattered three hits over seven innings.
