Disney starts unit for comics

Walt Disney Studios has formed a production unit called Kingdom Comics devoted to turning graphic novels into movies. Disney Publishing Worldwide has the right to distribute any comic book created by the division.
Writer-artist Ahmet Zappa, writer-editor Christian Beranek and former Fox TV executive Harris Katleman will oversee the venture, which anticipates making deals with top graphic novelists and artists.
