New guidelines go to seminaries
Times Wire Reports
The Vatican issued new psychological screening guidelines for seminarians in an effort to be more selective after a series of priest sex abuse scandals.
The Roman Catholic Church said it wanted to help weed out priesthood candidates with “psychopathic disturbances.”
The guidelines said problems like “confused or not yet well-defined” sexual identities need to be addressed.
The Vatican also directed the evaluators to look for “evidence of homosexuality” in the schools. The Vatican considers homosexual activity sinful.
