at Michigan 16, Miami of Ohio 6: Rich Rodriguez walked off the field as a winner for the first time at Michigan as Brandon Minor’s 15-yard touchdown run with 8:12 to go finally put away the RedHawks in Ann Arbor.
at No. 11 Wisconsin 51, Marshall 14: Unable to run early and down by two touchdowns, the Badgers turned to quarterback Allan Evridge, who completed 17 of 26 passes for 308 yards and a touchdown at Madison, extending Wisconsin’s home winning streak to 16.
at Illinois 47, Eastern Illinois 21: Juice Williams ran for a school-record 174 yards and two touchdowns at Champaign.
at Purdue 42, Northern Colorado 10: Curtis Painter passed for 286 yards and two touchdowns, at West Lafayette, Ind., as the Boilermakers struggled to put away the Bears, who were 1-11 last season.
at Michigan State 42, Eastern Michigan 10: Javon Ringer rushed for 135 yards and a career-high five touchdowns at East Lansing.
at Iowa 42, Florida International 0: Ricky Stanzi threw three touchdown passes in his first start and Shonn Greene ran for 130 yards at Iowa City.
Minnesota 42, at Bowling Green 17: The Gophers’ Adam Weber threw three touchdown passes and made a nifty grab of his own in the fourth quarter at Bowling Green, Ohio.
at Indiana 45, Murray State 3: Marcus Thigpen scored touchdowns on his first two carries in the Hoosiers’ rout at Bloomington.
