Good question

Last year here in San Diego County, a young man was injured making a tackle in a high school football game and is still paralyzed, and he had to wait for an ambulance to arrive to transport him to the hospital because the ambulance on-site couldn’t leave while the game was in progress.

This year we read that a young man in Boron was injured making a tackle in a high school game, and later died, and he had to wait for an ambulance to arrive to transport him to the hospital because the ambulance on-site was called away.

One might ask, “What is the purpose of an ambulance at a high school football game?”
